At eight, we left New Mexicos desert for the coast, led by my fathera sailor, a captainwho craved its solace. As a child, Id listen to a creeks icy trickle; as an adult, I camped by a mountain lake, dreaming of floating through water to new adventures. Its a gift for my soulrenewing, cleansing.
